Prayer of the Day (Easter Sunday)
Like the saints of old, we arrive O God, looking for ashes where the flowers used to dwell. And there you are. Among the blooms. Walking with the Marys. Talking with the women on Easter Day. Frustrate our expectations in the same way, we pray. Surprise us with what already is. And plant in our hearts joy at the thought of what might yet become. Amen.
